St. Bonaventure University

      Dream It Do It 500 is an event that Enactus has developed over the past few years. The primary purpose of this event is to advocate STEM (Science, Technology, Math, Engineering, and Math) skills to students. This rubber band-powered car competition targets high school students throughout the local area.

 

Teams of four students are given two and a half hours to construct and develop a car with the help of professional engineers. They are evaluated on how far their car can travel, accuracy, and how much weight their car can carry. After this portion of the competition, each team is then required to prepare a 20-minute marketing pitch to a panel of the university’s professors. Teams will be judged on their creativity, professionalism, and team involvement.
